Change of Dependent Visa for Wife Work Permit to Tier 1 Gen

Post by alex18 » Mon Feb 01, 2010 8:36 pm

I have been in UK for more than 15 months. I was earlier on Work Permit which was valid until Feb 10. My wife got a dependent visa (work permit based) from India also valid until Feb 10.

I changed my visa category to Tier 1 General in Sep 09.

As my mom was not well, she was staying in India for quite some time and since the change of category of my visa to Tier 1 General (Sep 2009), she has recently joined me in Jan' 10.

Now I want to change the category of my wife's visa as well from Work Permit based Dependent Visa to Tier 1 General based Dependent Visa.

Could you tell me the procedure for the same and what documentation i will need for the same.

Documents available with me are:

Bank statements for past three months showing a minimum balance of £1333.00 (£533.00 + £800.00). This amount is only in my account (main applicant). Do i need to show the maintenance fund in my wife's account as well?

Main Applicant's Visa (Tier 1 General) Copy

Application Form

Passport Photos

Letter from Main Applicant

I would be really grateful if some one could advise me on this on priority.

Thanking you in advance.

Thanks TVN-Ramesh Guru for your help.

That would mean that I need to provide two letters
1. Cover Letter telling the story.
2. Sponser Letter from me for my wife.

Thanks again.

Cover letter to give the details of your Dependents and what supporting docs you are attaching..

Sponser Letter is that one you give to your depedent addressing the casework, that they are ur dependents, takecare of their full responsibilites. etc..

Check the forum for templates.. (Chetan's sticky above)
