2 jobs but paying basic tax

Post by time-to-move-on » Tue Feb 02, 2010 10:03 pm

Hi all

I am currently doing 2 jobs. Left my 1st one and started a new job back in march last year. therefore filled in a P46 stating it as my only job. My previous employer called me back and we agreed on new terms. I had an opportunity of managing both side by side since then.

The tax deducted from both is at the basic rate. the 1st is 20k and the second is 22 k.

I am almost ready to apply my initial Tier 1 general application. Will this cause me a trouble? I need to claim points on 30k which are sufficient from both jobs. Tax is something which worries me alot.

Please help and advise me what to do?

Contact the HMRC and tell them your situation and pay back the tax you owe. You will be fine.

I am currently on psw.

I am applying my Tier 1 general in a week. Even if i tell HMRC, will home office have a problem with this?
will it effect my tier 1 application?

Not sure what 'PAYE is not cleared means'

But, it will atleast stop your under-payment of tax. So that you will not end up with a huge tax bill at end of the year. Not a qualified accountant but, just a view of normal person.

sushil can you please specify 1) what is PAYE is not cleared?
2) will the tier 1 case worker have a problem with this under payment of tax? can it lead to a rejection
