Academic transcript or wait for degree certificate?

Post by geekboy » Tue Jan 10, 2006 5:00 am

Hi All,

My degree was completed in 1998 when points were cross-credited from another course (diploma).

I was out of the country at the time and so never had the degree conferred.

I'm now about to apply for HSMP, and am not sure whether to apply now using the academic transcript that I have (it states "Degree completed 1998") or to wait for the Degree Certificate (which can't be issued until the start of March). It's an original copy of the academic transcript, on embossed university letterhead. The university is in New Zealand.

I know it's only 6 weeks difference, but my partner is in the UK so time is of the essence.

Thanks in advance,

Geekboy.

I believe so long as the transcript says degree completed that it is valid- as long as its an original transcript. I sent that and my degree certificate and they didnt even look at the transcript. Not to worry- I was rejected anyway due to education.

Academic transcript or wait for degree certificate?

I had read somehwere in the guidelines doc that "....all documents to be submitted in Original". I guess, if you are submitting ORIGINAL TRASCRIPT, it should not be a problem. However, in my opinion, do mention in the covering letter stating the reason of enclosing the transcripts. Best of luck

Many thanks for your replies, I think I'm going to wait for the degree certificate just so that there's no chance of a refusal on that criteria.
