Hello friends,
I am applying for Tier 1 (General) and have the following queries. Kindly respond...
1. I am claiming points for my Masters Degree. The Appendix 1 states that I need to provide supporting evidence for the qualification for which I am claiming points for. In that case, do I just need to send my Masters Mark sheets and Degree Certificate or should I sent all original mark sheets right from my 10th standard until Masters
2. Do I need to send semester mark sheets or just the consolidated and Degree Certificate is enough?
3. My University is listed in PBS. Do I still need to get a letter from my University for proof of learning in English
4. Is it okay to show only Fixed Deposits as Maintenance Funds?
5. I have online bank statements (for showing my proof of salary). The bank is not ready to provide their seal on it. If that is the case, do I need to get the bank statement notarized?
Awaiting for your response!!
Thanks.

2. Do I need to send semester mark sheets or just the consolidated and Degree Certificate is enough? Original Degree Certificate is enough. But, if you want to send you can send consolidated mark sheet.
3. My University is listed in PBS. Do I still need to get a letter from my University for proof of learning in English Not Necessary
4. Is it okay to show only Fixed Deposits as Maintenance Funds? There is a lot of debate about whether fixed deposits are accepted or not. To be on the safer side, break them and deposit them into your bank account. (my opinion only)
5. I have online bank statements (for showing my proof of salary). The bank is not ready to provide their seal on it. If that is the case, do I need to get the bank statement notarized? Getting the bank to stamp and seal is mandatory, try to convince the bank or order original bank statements that arrive in post.
Awaiting for your response!!
Thanks.

If I break the Fixed Deposits now, I cannot show that the sufficient amount has been maintained over a period of 3 months.
Anyone over there....who has shown Fixed Deposits as Maintenance Funds.
Thanks!!

I see in one of the threads that my payslips should be signed. I work for one of the large organizations where they do not encourage signing of payslips. What is the alternative I have? I am also attaching my bank statements along with my payslips that I took a print out of.
Thanks.

Reading
Tier 1 (General) policy guidance *carefully* will be helpful in understanding what are mandatory requirements. Do not base your application on merely what you read in this forum.
e.g. - one member who had problem with
term deposits even though the general understanding is that term deposits can be used as evidence of maintenance funds.

Very true. Because nobody here is a professional immigration lawyer (atleast not me). Everybody gives only suggestions which they genuinely believe might help others who are in similar position as them.
queryseeker, I have suggested that you break your fixed deposits and deposit in bank account only because I have read somebody had a bad experience with FDs in this forum and if you had time, you would cash them to be on safer side. I did not intend to say that the FDs are not acceptable or is not a general understanding that they are accepted.
All the best.

My response above was not to contradict what you had suggested but, in fact, because I felt from the questions posted that the OP hadn't gone through the policy guidance.
My intention wasn't to contradict you. Not at all! Apologies if you felt that way ...

A Fixed Deposit is like loaning the bank your money. In return, they pay you interest.
Therefore it is an investment not savings
Is fixed deposit readily available to u if u want them in case of emergency ?
