Urgent please, ILR needed

Applied for ILR 4 weeks ago. My wife's daddy is in a serious and critical health condition after a road accident in Uganda yesterday, his prognosis is very poor. My wife is distressed and she wants to travel immediately, but I am worried of recalling the passports as it may mean withdraw of the application. I applied with 3 dependants (wife and 2 children).

Please advise me urgently

If you have to travel at the earliest then the only option is to withdraw the application and get your passports back.

Even if you request for priority treatment and UKBA agrees to it (highly unlikely), it will still take them some days / weeks to decide on your application and return your passports.

sushdmeht, thank you for your advice, I am going to discuss this with my wife. We have to make a decision by tomorrow.

Hi,

We were in a simillar situation with a family illness last year, though not as critical as yours. I had applied for my son to be given leave in line with mine. I sent in the urgent treatment form and they dealt with things within 3 days (including a call to me to donfirm that I had revieved my passport).

If you have to travel then you may need to wthdraw your application, but it may be worthwile giving them a ring first.

Archlever, thank you for your reply.

Infact, it is my wife and the youngest of children (daughter 2.5yrs) who have to travel urgently. Chances of survival of sick are now reported to be extremely limited. (in comatose currently).
In your case did you withdraw the application or did UKBA issue your son with the Visa?

I phoned the HO today, they have advised me to write a letter detailing the circumstances and that I should request for the application to be priotised. The lady I spoke to seemed to empathise with me.

I am planning to send the letter in morning (special delivery); them wait and see if that may of help. My wife has declined for me to withdraw the application, so if the application cannt be priotised, then we just have to wait and hope. I will be emphasising this in the letter that we DONOT want to withdraw the application.

At this point we have the worst new from home. It is not easy to us
