Success at Croydon

Post by blue.olive » Fri Feb 19, 2010 10:53 am

Hi

I got my ILR approved on 17 of feb

my experience :

book online appoinment for 17/02 exactly 28 days before due date at 10:30

Arrive croydon at 9:15 and was allowed in for security around 9:40

normal security check and then waited in que for 25 mins

Went to window for initial screening of documents . Quite straight forward gentleman at the desk in 'to the point' conversation mode and not ready to listen anything else :D . and issue me a Ticket number ( Reference number) Please ensure keep to the receipt safe as u need it till last moment.

Then was send to first floor to make payment. Quite polite and help lady.

Went to second floor and wait for my number to call. After 30 mins my number was called.

I was ask for the following docs:

1. Application form
2. Payment receipt
3. Letter from initial screening officer
4. Letter from current employer ( Must )
5. Last three month payslips
5A. Bank Statement
6. P45 or Letter from previous employer or P60
( I gave P45 and he didn't ask for rest of documents )
7. Passport
8. Photographs
9.Ticket Number ( Reference number )

after reviewing documents. He said the rest of the docs are in order and he is waiting for some further information from the system and i might have to wait for 2 hrs and i can go out and check the status of my application from first floor at customer services windows on return.

I went out and come back after 1 hours and then wait for an hour till my number was called and customer services office told me that my application is successful and ask me to check my detail on visa

Pleasant experience. Very helpful attitude .
Thank you everyone for you support and guidance.
Regards
Olive

Hi there, congratulations. Were you on a work permit before? You've said you had to have a letter from employer? My wife is applying for ILR next Friday but doesn't have such a letter. She is on a marriage visa at the moment.

Each and every one of us can make a difference. All right everyone, line up alphabetically according to your height.

She doesn't a letter from employer.
The emphasis is on the continuing relationship, proof that you have spent the time together since she entered the UK

4. Letter from current employer ( Must )

6. P45 or Letter from previous employer or P60

* thank god i don't have to provide 4) as i have been made redundant and leave effective at the end of this month. I'm gogint to the Croydon office next friday.

* i don't have all my P60 so i hope they accept sa tax calculations from the Revenue instead.
