Temporary work visa application

Post by noggs » Thu Feb 25, 2010 11:05 am

Hi,

I am a UK citizen, resident in that country, and I have had a job offer for Canada. I can apply through the Temporary work visa application service. My question is of timing really. We are due to fly in just over 6 weeks and I have not yet got the police certificates for my wife and I.

By the time they arrive it's likely there will be less than 6 weeks till we fly, which is the current quoted VISA processing time. I have read the Canadian Consulate (London) website and it appears that I cannot apply in person. The best approach seems to be through the "24-hour drop-box".

Does anyone have any experience of using the 24 hour drop box? Is it simply a case of turning up early in the morning and dropping it off? Is there any other way?

Alternatively we could take all the documents on the plane with us and apply when we reach the Canadian border, but I would like to get the VISA sorted before then if possible!

Hi

Drop Box
For Drop box you need to be early and then you drop your application

Police clearance certificate
You can expedite the process by paying GBP 35.00 as prompt processing fee and GBP 7.00 to send the certificate via Special delivery.

Its better to sort out your visa before went there, but its ur choice

Good luck

Regards

Olive
