3 year extention with 2. Passport? How?

Post by gulgon » Fri Jan 27, 2006 7:34 pm

My current passport is full and my 1 year EC is stamped on that.
And I will get a new passport in the UK from my country embassy.

When I need to apply for 3 year extension, what should I do?
Send 2 passports together? Then what do they do?
Is there anyone who had such an experience?

Thanks a lot

Yes that has happened to me. You will need to submit your current passport and the previous one as thats the one that has your residence permit. Also this situation has been covered clearly in the document declaration page of the FLR(IED). Check out page 11 of 21 on the FLR(IED) form, section 11 : Documentary Evidence
As per the FLR(IED)

Your current passport or travel document - if you last entered the UK on a previous passport or travel document, please also provide this document if you have it.

Yes that must be the case. Than they will stamp 3 year in the new passport?

But what i am wondering is if they will also mention smt about initial 1 year in the new passport along with 3 year...? if they can then we dont have to keep and submit the previous pass at the end of 4 years when applying to Indefinite.

Has anyone else had such a story?

Yes the new visa sticker will come on the new passport

There is no reason to mention anything about the first visa stamp in the new passport. That is an irrelevant detail to your current passport. For ILR again, you would have to submit both passports.
