Earnings met but less than 12 Mths?

Post by alientrader » Sun Jan 29, 2006 6:59 pm

Hi guys,

have been finding this forum really useful for the information. I just have a qns for anyone who might be able to help, i havent seen this answer to my question anywhere.
i am below 28 years of age and have worked for approximately 9 mths, but has already grossed an income in excess of 60k pounds.
is this sufficient for me to claim the full 50 pts or do i have to wait to submit my 12 mths of income.

Due to several personal reasons, it's in my interest to apply as soon as possible.
If anyone can shed any light on this, it would be much appreciated.

Yes, you should be able to apply immediatly and not have to wait another 3 months. They want to see earnings from the last 12 months and in the last 12 months you have earned sufficient to claim points. It does not matter really if you have done it over 12 months or 9 months or even less. Make sure you document as much evidence as possible.

I would include
- Tax documents
- Pay slips
- Bank statements

Hi All,

I have a small query regarding the past 12 mnths earnings section...
For showing the last 12 mnths income from salary I need to produce the salary slips and letter from the employer.....of the 12 mnths duration the 4 mnths are of a different company and I don have the bank statements fro the same as that account was a salary account and has been closed by the company when I left.....

my query is .... is it necessary and compulsory to show the bank statements as the proof of income ???

if yes then I can show my last 8 mnths earnings frm the salary and I can show the bank statements as well for the same....

kindly clarify and help

regards,
Junior

Bank statements are one of the types of evidence you can show and it certainly helps. But there are other forms of evidence as well -

Have a look at the guidlines document, page 23 and 24
Applicants should provide two forms of evidence for this section. Of the above types of evidence, the most suitable to demonstrate earnings are usually tax documents and pay slips. The other types of evidence can be considered but we may need further information for clarification, which will delay the consideration of your application.

Hi again,

Thanks for such prompt and quick information.

I read the caseworker's guide for the past earnings and also read the HSMP guideline document which details about the evidences which are needed for the past earnings section.

from the information i got frm both the sources I could understand that the bank statements are not at all needed for the income.... its just that the applicants feel that its the most sturdy and confirmed way of showing the salary earned

but, in my case I can present the bank statements only for 8 mnths duration, which is the duration of my new company, and the previous company's bank statements are not possible for me to arrange.....

the other type of evidence which I can provide is the company provided salary slips and the tax returns for the last fiscal year....

if i can mention this in my cover letter do you think the case worked will be convinced on the same.....

also I can show my offer / appraisals letters clearly stating my salary per month

so hopefully with all this information can I go ahead with my filing the HSMP application???

also kindly clarify about the date on the exp letter I have the exp letter on the same lines as needed by the HSMP caseworker but the dates are not mentioned...is this fine ???

Thanks again in anticipation

regards,
Junior

You are thinking around the right lines. On its own the bank statements are not as important. Its just that when you had the other forms of evidence, it just makes your application that much more weightier. The key point is the case worker requires atleast 2 forms of evidence for each cateogry. Doesnt stop you from providing more evidence if you have it, does it? IMHO, you should also submit other documents you mentioned such as the offer and apprisal letters. They will add on as suplimentary evidence.

Regarding the cover letter, what you write in it, you just highlight your case to the case worker bringing to his/her attention that documents you present. There is nothing wrong in mention the different evidences you are supplying for all the categories.
also kindly clarify about the date on the exp letter I have the exp letter on the same lines as needed by the HSMP caseworker but the dates are not mentioned...is this fine ???
Why arent the dates mentioned? I thought that would be fairly standard to mention the dates you worked at the companies and for how long.

Hi again,

When I said the dates on exp letter means the date the exp certificate was issued to me.....rest all the parameters have been taken into consideration....

From and to date of ur service
Designation
Responsibilities

in fact I have also requested my previous employer to write that the job was a full time graduate level job

so the only thing missing is the date on the exp certificate....is this fine or should I ask my previous employer to issue me another exp certificate bearing a date on the same....

do let me know

thanks

If your employer does not mind giving you another letter with the date on it, then you should ask them to do just that. This is not to say that your current experience letter would be a problem. My point is why take that chance when you dont have to.
