Hey Madmad wrote:Hi!
A friend of mine received her cert. today after almost 4 1/2 years. Her timelines are as follows:
1. Applied on the basis of being spouse of an Irish citizen.
2. Applied: June 2005.
3. Acknowledged: July 2005.
4. Additional documents: Sept 2008.
5. Granted: 12-03-2010.
I fully agree. There is a lot of people in the same boat. It's extremely frustating to hear this.Deception-shy wrote:Hey Madmad wrote:Hi!

Thats incredible timeline, I'm sure you friend must have frustrated with the system. In UK it take less then 45 days to process a Naturalization
application, though number of people applying for citizenship in UK is much
more then Ireland. The reason of fact could be that foreigners coming to
ireland has started in the late 90's and Irish govt dont have a proper
system to deal with these. Anyway, cant complain about life here !

I can help for no 3. I know a friend who changed his address and INIS sent him approval. He did not know. He got to know about a year later when he went to renew his stamp 4. He was still given.mad wrote:Hi!
I just want to ask a couple of questions from you guys:
1. I applied through a solicitor. So would my approval letter come to the solicitor to me directly or would go to the solicitor?
2. My address changed in the not so distant past but I have not formally notified the INIS yet. Though, I have sent them a couple of letters with my new address written on the top left of the letter. So if they sent the letter to my old address can they blame me for it?
3. If by some chance the letter goes to the wrong address then what happens? Can they revoke my approval or something?
I am very worried about this all so I'd appreciate your help in this regard.
