Previous Earnings Docs - clarification needed

Post by T1G_Aspire » Sat Mar 20, 2010 8:54 pm

Hi,
I'm planning to apply for Tier 1 G mid next month. I work with an Indian MNC and would like to use my salaries during the period April 2009 to March 2010 for my previous earnings.

Query:
Can I use the form 16 (original) that i'll get from my employer for Apr-Mar2010 as one evidence and the bank statements (of salary credit) as the next evidence?. Will these two alone suffice?

My intention of using these two is to not go to my company HR for any attestations. Kindly share your thoughts on this. Thanks.

Yes as per the HO GUIDANCE you can use you IT-Returns certificate as long as your totl GROSS & NET Salaries are correctly shown n matches..

you need to mention this in cover letter for caseworker

But still there are chances HO can contact ur employer if verification required;

From T1 general Guidance

a document produced by an employer as an official return to a tax authority, showing details of earnings on which tax has been paid in a tax year (for example a P60 in the United Kingdom)

Please note that because tax documents are usually produced at the end of a fixed tax period they will not necessarily show the entire period for which the applicant is claiming previous earnings unless they are for the exact period claimed. An applicant
Tier 1 (General) Policy Guidance page 26 of 44 should therefore be cautious about using these documents unless he/she is sure they show the exact amount of earnings for which he/she is claiming points.

Yes. these two are two different sources!

Usually on what basis HO do the verification.
Is it random or based on cases.

I heard that if the application is made in UK then theu usually dont check but if it is made in India or any other country the probability is high.

What seniors think on this.

It all depends on the case worker. If he thinks that the application needs verification, then it doesnt matter whether the application is made in UK or India.
