URGENT please..New rules and maint funds only 5 days short?

Post by khurramrafiq » Mon Mar 22, 2010 8:37 am

Hi
My fried scheduled to apply on 10-April because his 3 months for maint funds will be completed on 5 April.
Now due to those new rules he has to apply on 31 Mar, so he can get the application at 1-April at HO, only problem is that he is short of 5 days in his maintenance Funds, how can he get around with this situation?

I would appreciate if anybody can comment on this or guide?

Many thanks

5th April is easter so post office would be closed otherwise I would have suggested to keep everything ready and apply on the 5th of April. Mention in your cover letter that you'd send the bank statements for the period (6th March - 5th April) as soon as you get them
and when you get them just send them over with another cover letter explaining what are those bank statements for.

but because of easter it has become tricky for you. not even on friday cuz thats a bank holiday as well
Goodluck.

you mean additional documents after making your application? yes they do, you can send as many documents as you can before the decision has been taken

just make sure that the bank statements dates you're gonna claim should end on or before the date you send the application. for example if you're sending the application on 4th you can't claim maintenance funds date from 5th onwards
are you applying in country or from outside?
Goodluck.

It is in UK application and he is coverting it from IGS or PWS something like that.

Now is there is any worth to file this type of case via Solicitor? will that help in any case?

Plus can't he show money from his cousins account if his cousin gurantees his support as Guardian something like that?

Thanks again.

You can go through solicitor only if you're unsure about how to process your case. Filing through a solicitor in no way makes your case stronger in the eye of caseworker.
Money has to be in man applicant's account. It could be a joint account and could be anywhere in the world
