Employer pays net salary

Post by TOGETT1 » Tue Mar 23, 2010 12:11 am

Hi,

I am in the UK working for an IT services company on a tier 2 visa.

I am looking for applying to get a switch done to tier 1 visa under the recently changed rules (for tier 1 visa). I plan to apply when the new rules come in to play (i.e post 6th April 2010).

My employer pays me a net salary in the UK. Employer pays the applicable taxes and NI on their side on my behalf.

In the above context, questions I have are as below

1. Can I use the gross earnings (which will include the Tax and NI components) as mentioned in my P60 form to compute the points (i.e. to refer to the right salary band in the published table of points)?

2. For the purpose of providing the adequate documentation to prove my gross earnings, is it sufficient if I produce the P60 form (which
I believe will include the tax and NI components as well)? Will I be requried to produce any other documentation in this regard?

Appreciate your advise on this.

It's the Gross income they consider

yes you can use the P60 provided it covers the whole period you are claiming.
other document would be personal bank statements showing salaries credited to your account

Appreciate your advise on this.
Goodluck.

The guidance warns that you should be careful of showing the P60, because the period that you claim points may be out of the financial year and you have to show a combination of P60 and salary slips or employer letter. If the claiming period lies within the financial year, then P60 is considered to be one of the evidence!

Appreciate your advise on this.

I agreed with VKS
its better you send ur payslips, P60 and bank statement
and also if you can make a worksheet showing your gross and net salaries and the day it reached in ur bank account .

Does the gross amount in P60 (i guess month wise) is reflecting exactly in bank statement?
If not, then how will you show the 2 source.
