Query regarding Switching from Student Visa to Tier1 (PSW)

One of my friend is in UK on Student's visa and wants to switch from Student's visa to TIER1 (PSW). He is doing MBA (HR) and has cleared the written examination. As per the curriculum of MBA he has to submit his dissertation on or before 10th June 2010 and he will be awarded with the degree only after completing the dissertation. His College authority/University said that the results of dissertation will be out by September 2010 only.

The problem is his visa is expiring on 31st July 2010. So please let me know whether he is eligible to apply for Tier1(PSW) or not. If not then what options do he have. If eligible then what documents he needs to submit with the application. Thanks.

Without the result, i dont think he can apply for PSW. He can extend his student visa till his convocation and once he gets his result, he can apply for PSW

Just now I talked to my friend and he is saying that the extension is not possible after the results of written examination is out. Please suggest.

I thought you will be given extension till convocation. Not sure what to do if that is not the case.

Maybe have to go back and apply from home country.

he shud get letter from college or university that dissertation is in process and then apply for student extension and HO gives extention as many friends of mine have got.
After getting results as a whole he wud b able to apply for T1 (PSW)
