just turned in my settlement application....

Post by buttercup88 » Tue Apr 06, 2010 9:47 am

everything went alright...
had to pay 800 euro.

i had a question. The lady who took all my documents said that my original bank statements (the ones the bank send in the mail) are only considered copies.
she said it would only be considered original if it was stamped and signed at the bank.

also, on the check list, she wrote that most of my original documents were copies.

Has anyone else been told this???

Nonsense! If anything, her statement is back to front!

Yes, absolute nonsense. Chances are she didn't bother to look properly and is too accustomed to seeing Internet statements - I'm sure, though, that the person who ultimately handles your case will be better informed.

That's what I thought!

She also wrote the my marriage cert was a photocopy when it was actually a notarised copy.

My husband original payslips are now labelled as "copies" too since they haven't been stamped and signed by his employer.

Basically, everything I included in my application that was of consequence was ticked on the checklist as a copy.

Let's hope the visa officer has more sense.

Hi Buttercup, I've been reading your posts over the last few weeks. I had alot of the same concerns. Good luck or should I say God be with you, I've also just given in my application (last week thursday at Worldbridge) and am awaiting reply.

The ECO actually called my husband yesterday! Didn't know they did that, but I'm in Jamaica......so anything is possible.

Thanks DesignChick. :)

Good luck to you, too.
Everything works out in the end.
I'm surprised they called your husband! Esp if you provided a letter from him.

What did they ask him?

To stmellon:
I applied from the Rome VAC.

But, hopefuly, the officer will see the documents and disregard the checklist.

Buttercup,

I got the visa today!!!!! Yes, I provided a letter from him and everything else that was required. They asked where he worked when he was in Jamaica. I had submitted old payslips from when he was here to prove that we lived together in Jamaica. They asked why we (myself and the children) didn't go to England with him last year, and if he had registered the children for school yet.

But I have the visa, with my KOL REQ endorsement so I'm thanking God and feeling really happy and relieved.

Good Luck to you too.

Congrats!

That's great news.
:)

That was really quick, too.

I hope mine is just as quick, though I doubt it. Apparently, applications in Italy take around a month or two to process.

They just introduced a priority service here, that ensures the decision in up to 4 weeks. Thank God. Good Luck!

My staus just changed from "Arrived at the Visa Section"
To "With courier. Attempting delivery"
It will probably take a few days to get here as I'm far away from Rome.

It only been four days in processing at the Rome embassy.
Is that a bad thing????
Do people get visas acceptances that quickly???
I thought it usually took a lot longer than that...like at least one month.
The average time on worldbridge is like 1-2 months for Italy.

I'm so nervous right now I'm shaking a bit.

Please, anyone reading this, keep me in your thoughts.

If it's a refusal, I think I'm going to have a mental breakdown.

Thank, Elana.

I need to take a serious chill pill.

I've never heard of a spouse visa being issued in four days... which makes me think the result is otherwise.

Buttercup, calm down. My spouse visa was issued in four days (even though I did a priority service).

Once you submitted all the required information and meet the requirements, its not impossible.

Smile, keep your spirits up and pray.

I got the visa!

Thanks for keeping in your thoughts you guys!
:)

I'm so happy.

No interview, no additional documents needed, and not even a letter with the DHL package!

To be honest, I'm quite surprised as we didnt have a lot of original documents. Oh well, I'm not going to complain.

Good luck to everyone else or anyone reading this!!!
