Spouse visa - how many months wage slips/bank statements are

Post by charl » Wed Mar 31, 2010 12:45 pm

I am about to proceed with a spouse visa application for my husband. I am a little wary as I have had conflicting opinions from solicitors and posts I have seen on here. I have been informed by one solicitor that a minimum of 3 months wage and bank statements will suffice and another solicitor has told me that as long as I am employed at time of making an application and at the time an answer is received that this will be ok?

Can anybody tell me with certainty the correct information or does each case stand on its own merit?

Many thanks.

For applicant's and / or sponsor's funds:

* Statements covering at least 3 months
* Are there regular transactions?
* Are the funds immediately available?
* Large deposits with no evidence of normal transactions need careful examination.

To be on safe side its got to be a minimum 3 months wage slips and 6 months bank statements.

You should have no problem with this.

The ECO wants to know that you are working, having a regular income coming in and that you can save some money for some rainy days.

thank you for your response, what happens in the situation that you are only recently back in the UK after living abroad and have had no income into a british bank account for the past 6 months? Is it possible to show an account used abroad?

Yes it would be accepted as long as you can take it with you/transfer it to a UK bank, thus making it available to you in UK

Remember that the statements have to be original; if they are printed internet statements they will have to be stamped and dated by the bank.
