looking to work in UK on Tier1

Hello,

I am in H1B status in United States and i have been living here since 4 years now. I was in UK for an year couple of years back and now i want to move there through Tier1(General). I have the required points but do i need to send all my originals along with the passport? If i do that, how long does it take to get them back? Will they send them to us through registered post? I am a bit scared to send originals. I would appreciate if anyone can advice me on this.
