Is there any limit for money in a student visa account

hey guys..
one of my friend is planning to send money home and he is in a dilema that what is the maximum limit in pounds a student visa holder candidate can send money to his home .can anyone can help my friend by replying it.[/b]

How exactly is he trying to send money? Like a bank transfer or something? He can send any amount he wants, there are no limits.
