delay in processing time! please help

I have applied for Tier 2 work permit on Mar 19th. It's been 4 weeks and I have not received the visa yet. When I checked my status, it shows' the case is with high commission".
I have worked with 3 different consultancy firm in India and the company which is sponsoring my WP has done the employment verification before applying the visa. Im not sure of the delay in process. Has anyone's visa got rejected or delayed due to their employment with consultancy firm or could there be anyother reason for delay in process?

due to huge application and declared holiday from 1 April to 5th its getting delayed. Me too applied for business visa on 22 March, still i am waiting.

Did you apply from a spnsor who is BEP(Business Exchage Programme)?
I was told that after 2 weeks after applying visa if the application is still under process, employer will follow up.
Where did you apply from?I applied from Mumbai.
