Degree certificate for tier-1 application

Hi Gurus,

I had completed my Bcom degree from Bangalore university in 2001. Till now I had not taken the degree/ convocation certificate. Now when I approached them for the same they are not in aposition to provide it immidiately or in tatkal scheme due to their own fault or problems, I dont know exactly. I have applied for it in & I will get it in the normal course. They say it will take some time.

But I am qualifying for the tier1 general visa & I dont want to wait...want to apply for it as early as possible...so that the rules are in my favour & i am qualifing.

Now in the bangalore university instead for the time being (until I get my degree certificate in the normal course) they are ready to provide me the PDC with a proper seal & signature of the exam head or anyother letter stating the above matter.

So my question is that...will I be able to apply for the visa with the above document or letter i.e. without the degree certi? (or with the guarentee to produce the certificate upon the receipt)

or is there anyway I can apply for the tier1 gen visa?

Original degree cert or convocation is really required for 2 reasons:-

1. Proof that you have passed your Bachelors/Masters degree
2. One of the proofs For the degree course was taught in English, if In degree its mentioned in English

But then we can establish the 2 things by marks cards also, isn't it?

Apart from the marks cards I can get an attested letter from the university also...

Hi ,

In your case , Original degree certificate is " must" thing ... All you can do is to wait for the original certificate from uni ....
