re: settlement visa

Post by richard carter » Tue May 04, 2010 6:55 pm

hi guys, i could really do with some advice, i am presently applying for a settlement visa for my kosovan wife, the problem is i am unsure about whether it would be granted or not. I am a british citizen but currently am unemployed due to the fact that the company i work for when bankrupt and i have been actively seeking employment for the past month, i have never claimed any benefits and am not currently doing so at the moment or would ever consider itt. My wife is educated to degree level and has some money i have a fair amount in my savings account and we have a place to live if she is granted a visa i just was hoping that anyone could give some advice on how much of a problem this will be for the application.

much appreciated

It would be helpful if you were in some type of employment, as you basically meet the other criteria's for the spouse visa.

Depending on how much savings you have, you can still apply but teh ECO needs to be convinced that with another mouth to feed and support you are not going to resort to claiming public funds to live on.
