Fixed Deposit account from overseas

Post by bob4k4 » Thu May 06, 2010 9:06 pm

Hello forum experts,
I m switching 4rom psw to tier4. I need to show my dad's account from overseas.
My dad has a Fixed deposit account in overseas. The bank today told my dad that they don't issue bank statements of this account.
However, they can issue a letter stating that the zzzzzz funds are available for this account throughout the whole month from date 03/04/2010 to date 06/05/2010( covering 28 days period) and that whenever the money is required, the account holder has no any barriers to withdraw money at any time.
so my question is,
can I show this letter to support evidence of money.

thanks

If the money is in a proper bank/building society, it would be fine and a letter would be accepted. You would also need to get a letter from your father stating that it is ok for you to use the money deposited in his name for your educational purposes.

hi n thanks for ur reply. I have another question. My dad has a pensioner's saving account. This account is not regulated by bank but it is regulated by Government's financial institution. And it has highest profit rate among all other banks.
Also, It usees certificates, like one certificate=5000 pounds.
So, my dad has baught 3 certificates and is getting profit on them while the actual money is saved.
So, will the letter from institution be fine or no.

thanks in advance
