Social Welfare Payment

Hi guys,
Just wanted to know about the social welfare payments. I am a naturalised Irish now, and my wife is a stamp 4, her naturalisation application is still under process. Right now I am a bit uncertain about my current job. So wanted to have some info on the points below, appreciate if you can throw some light on these.

1) If I go for the social welfare payments for me and for my wife, will her naturalisation application be affected? As I can claim weekly payments for me and my wife saperately.

2) Can I take the dole money alone and can still my wife start a business on her name at the same time? Will I be still eligible for dole just for myself.
