Wait until the rules change in your favor!stewie wrote:Is there anything I can do to become eligible (apart from getting 2 years younger of course)?
Get a new job with 40K+ salary, I am sure it wouldn't be very difficult for someone with Master Degree from reputable UK university and 14 years experience. 36K is rather low for your qualificationstewie wrote:Hi,
I'm 30 years old, have two Master's (one from a well respected UK university) and a BSc. I work in the UK on Tier 2 (Employer sponsored) for 3 years now and earn 36k. I have more than 14 years of work experience overall.
However, it seems like I'm not able to apply for Tier 1 (Highly skilled) under new rules any more - somehow I score only 70 our of the required 75 points on the calculator.
Is there anything I can do to become eligible (apart from getting 2 years younger of course)? Do you know if there will be any reviews to this points based system, which currently qualifies you only if you have a PhD, earn in excess of 40k and are 29 years old or younger (a direct violation of age discrimination laws by the way)?
Thank you.
