Tier1(General) Same Day Interview (PEO)

Post by saisundeep » Mon May 10, 2010 1:48 pm

Hello folks,

I have booked same day appointment for Tier1 (General) along with my wife who is on dependant visa.

Currently I am on Tier 2 intra-com-transf ( visa expiring on 2012) and switching to Tier1 (General) and for that my interview is due on this Friday in Sheffield but due to some family reasons my wife wouldn’t be able to attend the interview.

I have raised this question to the helpline (08706067766) and one of the customer advisors advised me that I should bring with my wife along and her appointment can’t be cancel and need to cancel whole appointment including main applicant and then re-book it.

But I wasn’t satisfied with the answer so rang back on the same number, another customer advisor told me that there shouldn’t be any problem when I appear for the interview I just need to explain the reason why I couldn’t bring dependant along and can carry on with the normal visa process.

Now, here I m bit confused.

I would appreciate your help if you could tell me which option I should go for and whether or not I can appear in the visa center for interview with out my wife.

Many thanks in advance.

Why are you being interviewed?

You need to check if your wife also needs to attend the interview or if the interview is only meant for the main migrant. If the latter, then take an authorization letter (from your wife) with you.

Missed reading the interview bit, so had to edit the response above.

If UKBA requires your wife to attend the interview too (can't think why) then you'll need to cancel the appointment and book one all over again.

Thanks again well as i mentioned earlier they themself not sure, called 3 times and everytime different ans, very strange. here is the summary:
first call:
ans: no i can't cancel or come alone without depedent as its diff slot, either she has to come or need to re-book it.
Second call:
Ans: Yes you can come alone and when you appear here just mention why your wife couldn't come no need to rebook or cancel.
thrird call:
Ans: Main applicant can bring her autho letter and certainly no need to bring dependent along with you.

i was really surprised to see all 3 diff ans.

I am confused with the "interview" that you say you have on Friday.

If it is just the PEO appointment you have (and you have used the word "interview" to refer to what is actually an "appointment"), then the presence of the dependent there is not mandatory. An authority letter will serve the purpose.

But if you have been asked to attend an "interview" (as you say) at the PEO, then you need to check as to who all need to attend that "interview"!

OooOpS! I think you phoned them... Sorry ...... Can anyone please give me email address for Tier 1 General extension queries? Every time I send email I get automated reply from them and they are not replying my original query.

Thank you.

best bet would be ring them on above number fire your query and if you want proof what they've said just note down advisor's name, date and time as all calls are recorded.

It is not required at all that dependents should be present with main application on PEO appointment.

And the main applicant need not to take any authorisation letter etc from the dependent.

Same Day Premium Service

Post by rasaka » Tue May 25, 2010 12:47 am

Hi All,

I am not sure this post belongs to this thread.

I had applied for Tier 1 VISA in One day service. But they required few documents which I submitted them today. The reason I went for one day service was because of my urgent unavoidable travel plan by this weekend.
Now I have been told, my application processing might take a week or 10 days.

My questions.
1) Can I get back my passport during the application processing. If I request for passport back does it mean that my application is withdrawn.
2) What all are the different options which I can exercise on.
3) Where I can track my application details.

Appreciate if you guys could help me out with my queries.

Thanks in advance.
