spouse visa english requirement

Post by hmm » Mon May 17, 2010 3:46 pm

Does the person apply for a spouse visa to UK needs to pass the 'life in the uk test' or similar before they apply for the settlement visa overseas?
What is the BHC ask for and where can I find more information about it?

It's not needed for the spouse visa but it is needed to get ILR.

hmm, there is no rule at the moment, but it is possible that some sort of rule might be introduced in the future. But there is no guide to any possible start date.

I think they tried to introduce it about 2 yrs ago on applicants from Indo subcontinent till they reliased that it was discrimnatory and then dropped it. But like John said, I think it will definetly come in sooner or later
