Renew student visa while waiting for results

Post by jbanjeet » Mon May 24, 2010 11:13 am

Hi

I have passed all exams and i am waiting for the results for my dissertation in order to graduate.

My student visa will expire in a few weeks and the results will be published 4 weeks after my visa expires.

My questions are:

1. Can I apply for an extention for my student visa?

2. For how long will they extend the visa? Is it one month only or 2 to 3 months?

3. After reading some posts i found that i only need to send bank statements covering 28 days period. But my question is how recent should the statement be? Will a 15 days old statement be ok?

4. Most of my money is in my savings account. Do i have to send statements of my current account also, or will the savings account be ok.

5. When i applied for my student visa i did not need a CAS number and i do not have one. Will the university give me the CAS number if i ask for it?

Thanking you in advance for your helpful replies

Jimmy

And your answers are....

1) Depends on if the University would give you a letter for student visa extension. I don't think they would do since you have no more course work to submit.. You could ask them anyway.

2) depends on how much course work is left

3) no problem

4) savings account is fine..

5) The university should be giving you your CAS number..
