Bank approval letter ???

Post by chippy01 » Wed May 26, 2010 4:52 pm

Hi,

I'm taking an education loan from a bank in India for my tuition fees and my living expenditure. My consultant says that it does NOT require for the money to reflect in my account for 28 days as I'm taking the entire amount as a loan. Just a "bank loan approval" letter would be enough for my visa stamping. Is he right in saying so ?? Or, does it require for the entire amount to reflect in my account for 28 days before i go for my stamping ?? Please advice.. Thanks in advance !

I will suggest you that you keep the money in your bank a/c for a minimum of 1 month before you apply for the visa. The loan approval letter itself is not enough because it might create a doubt that once you get your visa stamped you might cancel the loan, so it is necessary to prove that you had your loan approved and the money is already in the bank a/c. I would also suggest you to follow the simple instruction for documents required. If they want the money to reflect in your a/c for 28 days then do it or it might just turn against you.

All the best

I believe my Bank will transfer (since its an education loan) -

1. the tuition fees directly to the college
2. the expenditure funds to my UK bank account (Once i open this account after going to UK)

So, in this case, what is the amount that i need to show in my Indian bank records to the visa officer?

Hey there,

From my research so far, you do not need the amount in your account, but the bank statement for the approval of loan amount is enough. This might be of use.
