Tier 1 (General) dependent visa change to Tier 1 (General

Post by acetester » Mon May 31, 2010 1:45 am

Hello everyone,
I am new this forum and i would like to seek advice from this forum.

1. If i apply my tier 1 (general) include my dependents, Later Is it possible convert Tier 1 (General) dependent visa change to Tier 1 (General) ? reason is my wife can go to UK and search for job, once she get a job, later I can go join them, till she gets a job i can support her. I am not sure, whether any one experienced the same.

2. suppose my dependent completed 5 years, with 90 days per year outside the UK, where main applicant couldn't satisfy all conditions, but dependent is satisfies all the conditions, is there any way for my dependent to change to Tier 1 or ILR

Kindly give me your suggestions.

1. Not from within UK. If she qualifies, she will have to return to home country to apply for EC as Tier 1 (General) migrant.
2. No (for ILR). To change to Tier 1, same as above.

Also, as per current rules, time spent as dependent will not count when she changes to Tier 1 (general) and applies for ILR on her own merit (as and when she qualifies).

Since you are yet to apply for Tier 1, please note that ILR, as it applies now, is about to end very soon (July 2011).
