joint account query

Dear Experts,

I have one query .....in last intake my uncle showed joint account as statement for one of my cousin....now iam gonna apply for september intake2010 and iam thinking to ask the same uncle to open joint account wid me..so i can fullfill the bank statement requirement...will it be fine?
or you guys suggest me to go for individual statement.......

That should be fine.. but I think that you may need to show your relationship with the other account holder and get a letter of consent from him saying that you could use the funds.. I am doubtful about this but can someone tell me if in cases like this, it is necessary for the person to be blood relative?

Thanks for your reply bond...here is the exact statement on ukba web for joint accounts : "If you want to use a joint account as proof of your money, you must be named on the account along with at least one other person" and according to this there is no need to show relationship in joint account.
