Passport Validity

Post by ipod » Fri Jun 04, 2010 12:03 am

Hello immigrationboards!

Thank you for this useful forum..

I have a question hopefully somone can help me..

I came here on a student visa from Kenya in 2006, i am now getting married in 3 weeks, and i need to extend my leave using FLR(M) forms, but my passport is expiring in June 2011, is this going to cause problems towards my application??

PS. Current Student Visa expires end of August 2010, i'l apply before than.

Thank You in advance to viewers of this topic and to those who help me.

Kind Regards
Ipod.x.

its totally up to you what you want to do with your passport. If you are applying for your FLR(M) immediately after your marriage. I believe you can still use your passport as you still have up to one year validity. The Kenyan embassy should be able to sort your passport out for you after your visa is granted (renew or issue you with a new passport).

Then you can ask the HO to transfer your visa to your new one if you want but not important if you have a new valid passport.

When you are granted FLR(M) you will be issued with this is in the form of a separate ID card...not a vignette in the passport.
