embassy calling to check documents!

Post by daydreamer » Wed Jun 09, 2010 1:44 am

Hi all, me again :D

hope everyone is doing well. Ive thoroughly checked the board for any similar posts, but couldnt find anything. Hope someone on the board can help with my query, which is, is it normal procedure for the eco's to call and ask questions? This is regarding an offer letter of employment for hubby. The owner of the firm making the offer is a family friend, and he was contacted by someone from the UK embassy in Dubai. The guy basically called to check if the offer letter was legit.
Anyway, my hubby submitted his application in Dubai on 26th May. We have been tracking the application online, but always the same message "Application under assessment at visa section". I know technically it hasnt been many working days since he submitted his application, but Dubai has quick processing times compared to other places.
I know i should be patient and just wait, as every case is different and dealt with accordingly. Just want to know that if they have checked something which is not so very important (employment offer letter), does it mean they will check every single thing??!
I just want to be able to make plans for me and my baby which is due in Sept, but right now it feels like i cant do anything until i know the eco's decision
sorry for the melodrama, i should just snap out of it!
thanks in advance.

The employment offer letter is very important as it helps prove that you won't rely on public funds (a crucial aspect to a settlement application). Don't stress about it. If it's legit, then you'll soon get your approval.
I tell it like it is.
