Help Required for Appeal

Post by raja1000 » Mon Mar 13, 2006 7:37 am

Hi all,
My application has reached at HSMP at 15th of Feb and refusal has been decided on 27th of Feb. This report was received at my address (Pakistan) on 11th of March.
I have claimed for 65 points and got 50 points. Got 0 point in Education (Although I 'm BS - Computer Engg. Degree from Sir Syed university, Pakistan).
Now plz let me know, as in refusal letter I can appeal within 28 days, so from which date it will be counted (as I got after 11 days and if I 'm going towards NARIC it will also take 10 to 15 days).
Any buddy help me in what will be suitable matter of appeal as I heared that HSMP team is very aggressive and don't change their decission easily.
Best Regards,
Raja

No use of appeal

I think you dont qualify because the BS from sir syed is not equivalent to thier Bachelors even if you had a 4 years of duration of your degree. If you had Masters degree with 16 years of education, it would have been equal to thier bachelors and you would have got 15 points for it, otherwise now even if u appeal u will get 0.

As far as NARIC is concerned, give it a shot, but i dont think that even if you get a NARIC cert, the HSMP guys will change thier decision. They are hard nuts. Some guys had also got letter from UGC that thier degree is equivalent to bachelor's of UK but even that did nt help. Its all gloomy dude.

Hi Guy,
Thanks for explaination, but we have cases that 16 years of education (with BS or BE degree), they got 15 points. In Pakistan, two years BSC can't be equivalent but 4 years (total 16 years of education), is equivalent to UK Graduate level.
Lets see what will be happened as I already applied for NARIC.

Raja

The decision whether someone BSc degree is equivalent to UK BSc degree are solely based on NARIC database. So If thecase worker cannot find your degree/course/university in the database they simply will not award you point on education.

Keep in mind that HSMP case workers are not an educational experts so they need to refer to the expert which in this case is NARIC.
