Bank Account Statement - Nationalized or Pvt Bank ?

Post by Shadab » Tue Jun 22, 2010 1:53 pm

Hi,

This is my first post here..I would be applying for the Tier 1 visa in some time soon.

I had a query regarding the Bank Account Statement for the Maintainence Funds.

1) Is there any such requirement that the account that I would be showing for Maintainence funds should necessarily be in a nationalized bank..like State Bank of India? Or can it also be in banks like ICICI? I have browsed thru this site .. and seen folks have shown from banks like ICICI and HDFC also.. but just wanted to confirm. Coz I remember having read somewhere that they expect it in a nationalized bank.

2) Assuming that ICICI Bank is Fine with them: I believe that apart from the date range (last 90 days), they want the statement of account to have the bank logo on the top + stamp + seal. On earlier occasions when I had my statement issued from ICICI, i had got the statement printed .. on a sheet that had the ICICI logo on the top.. in black and white.. they would then stamp and seal all pages. Is this sufficient , as far as nature of Bank Statement is concerned? Or do I also have to think of things like.. it should have logo in color etc?

Thanks a lot for ur time.

 go to the bank and ask them for a statement from the bank stationary paper. Say them clearly that it is for applying VISA and they will require the details on the bank stationary only with seal on it. If you are a esteem / premiere / Big corporate banking customer, they will do this for you with free of charge. Else they might charge you some charges and it depends.

Thanks a lot for ur time.
