UK Tier 1 visa versus Work permit specific to company

Hello Everyone,

I was planning to apply for the UK Tier 1 visa and in the meantime I also got an offer from an Indian IT Service based firm.

What I want to know is, If I join the company then whether having the UK Tier 1 visa will be of any help for any future UK based projects that the company might be having.

OR they prefer to file a separate Work Permit for the resource. Also if they file the work permit, then will the Tier 1 visa become invalid?

I am keen to know if I should really file my Tier 1 visa petition or not as if I join the firm, then I need to give it some time to figure out if they are really keen on sending resources to UK or not and in that case if I get the visa in some days, then I will loose out on quite some time waiting for them to decide and also making up my mind to leave the company and move out on my own.

Any help would be appreciated.
