Pay slips and pay type

Post by vijaythiagarajan » Thu Jun 24, 2010 7:13 pm

Hi All

I have been in UK for 4.5yrs. I had to go back to India for 2months recently. I came back to UK now and my company have change my pay type instead of getting a salary, I would be paid an allowance only which is pay without any tax.

E.g. my salary is 36000£ per year then i would be getting 2200£ take home and pay some 800£ tax. instead I would be paid 2200£ and would not pay taxes as its only an allowance. The total salary will look like 24000£. I know it will cause an issue for TIER1 but i am in Tier1 already.

My payslip would only be an allowance slip.

Will it have any problems in ILR application?

please help any information would be helpful.

Regards
Vijay

You'll need to show where the UK tax is paid, and the more I hear about this method of payments from India, the dodgier it seems...

Surely not dodgy coz most top companies in the world use this format including biggest names like accenture. My only problem is if i didnt have break then I wouldnt have faced this. Also my company were paying salary until recently they changed decision. I am worried now.

Will u get a P60 showing tax paid to UK government? If HMRC isn't getting any tax from ur earnings here then surely it's dodgy?

Remember if you spend 183 days or more in a given tax year in UK then ur income is taxable here, maybe ur co is paying it for u but if I was u I'd need proof.
