Post by rbrampton » Mon Jun 28, 2010 1:30 pm

Hey All,

This is an excellent forum and has been sooo helpful in helping my husband getting a Tier-1 visa and dependent for me.

Now we are planning to leave within the next 1 to 1.5 months.

Anybody can suggest what would be proactive things to do about formalities before and right after we enter Britain.

Thanks a MILLION in advance...

Reb

Why in heaven's name are you leaving Canada for the UK? Do you know what the economic situation is over here and have you given any thought to the current crackdown on non EU immigration and the silly slogan of 'British jobs for British people'!

I know scores of families who have immigrated or plan to immigrate to Canada so it puzzles me that you wanna come over here.

Life ain't easy here bruv- that's the stark reality.

Btw, what type of job will you be looking for when you arrive? This thread may be a bit off point, but I am desperate to know why you are leaving Canada for the UK.

To be close to 'The Queen', is that a good guess? :)

Hii,

The real deal is that my husband has had quite a few job offers from the UK while he was there on a personal trip and we thought why not.

Plus it's warmer there than here!!!

Just so you know, there are no silly slogans in Canada but there has been and will always be (IMHO) employers looking for outsiders to have 'Canadian experience' on their resumes. Now WTF is Canadian experience...go figure!

Economic situation - depends a lot what your profession is. One may be able to find a 'job' in Canada but what good is a $8 - $10 job given the cost of living in big cities across Canada.

Anyone?

1. The formalities after we enter the UK.

2. Are they time bound?
