No national insurance number

Post by elizabeth25 » Tue Jun 29, 2010 10:25 pm

Please can anyone tell me if this is a serious problem? my husband is applying for spouse visa to join me here but he previously was in UK on a student visa and he never bothered to apply for a national insurance number. But he was only working 14 hours a week earning about £90 a week so he wouldnt have needed to pay any tax or NI anyway. Will he get into trouble? Im scared this will ruin our application.

Was it a cash-in-hand job? If so then this was illegal.

May not count against your soon-to-be husband though if the UKBA do not probe.

He's got wageslips and P60 so i think it wasnt illegal. i guess its best not to mention his job then unless asked. we were going to submit his wageslips as proff that he has a good work history.
