Moving from Workpermit to Tier2 (General)

Post by ceyes » Sat Jul 03, 2010 10:36 am

Dear friends, I will be grateful, if you clarify the following.

I entered UK on 26th Feb 2007 on a Work permit Visa which is valid till 01 Feb 2012. Can you please tell me, on which date I should apply for PR/PC, or do I need to apply for extension (as I delayed my first entry by 26 days).

I now have a good offer from another company which is ready to sponser my Tier-2 (general). However, this involves moving from Work permit category to Tier-2 category. I would like to know, whether this would effect my eligbibility criteria? Will I still be able to apply for PR during Feb/March 2012?

Will there be any problem with the switch over / PR for my 19 year old daughter who is in UK as my dependent. However, she has to spend a lot of time in India for studies (She did her A levels here in UK but I had to join her in an Indian University for Engineering, as she was not eligible for home fees here). She always comes and stays here with us during her term holidays.

What happened to the Path to Citzenship proposal which was supposed to have started from July 2011. The information is completly removed from UKBA website. Is there any chance that it will be postponed further, say beyond March 2012 (I will be happy to avoid it)!!
