consequences of termination of employment on my leave

Post by maajed » Sat Jul 03, 2010 5:41 pm

Hello friends,

I am a doctor and was working in an NHS hospital in the south of the country on a Tier 2 visa. The leave to remain on my ICFN was till May 2011. Unfortunately, due to personal reasons I resigned from my job on the 21st of June. I want to know whether I am supposed to leave the UK right now or can I wait for my upcoming job interviews in the country till the 20th of July this year?

I searched the internet and I got the impression that I can stay lawfully till 60 days to allow me time to find a new job. However, the Home Office ICFN webpage states that ' if your circumstances have changed since we gave you the ICFN, call us immediately and inform us about it.'

I would appreciate it very much if someone could please tell me what I should do next.

Regards,
