Mixed PAYE UK salary + overseas company director salary

Post by LoganManikam » Sat Jul 03, 2010 11:20 pm

Hello there,

I am unable to find the answer to my question in any other topic. Apologies if it has already been covered.

I'm currently working as a F1 doctor under the PAYE system earning a total of £28,000 gross.

The complication:
I am also a co-director of a property management company in Malaysia (managed together with my father).
I've been paid (generously) a total of £20,000 net (tax declared and paid in Malaysia) over the last 6 months from the company into my personal bank accounts.
The company itself has been loss-making over the past 1 year.
Does this income therefore not counted as UKBA assesses earnings based on profits of the company?
If it is counted, would i still have to show my company accounts?
I am able to show personal bank statements with the monies deposited and a statement from a chartered accountant proving monies paid to me.

Many thanks to all your replies. I am unable to find the answer to this question anywhere so any help would be greatly appreciated!
