temporary work visa for australian wife

Post by carolineinthecity » Wed Mar 15, 2006 3:23 am

I want to travel to UK with my husband who is english and stay for 5 months. Is there any way i can work while i am there? I have already used my 2 year working holiday visa.
We have been in aus for 2 years. We would have been together 4 years by this time and married for 20 months. we have to return in January for husband to get aus P/R.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

You could come on a visitor visa but that would not allow you to work.

Alternatives include getting a Work Permit, but in what capacity? Another alternative would be applying for a Spouse visa, but as that is a type of settlement visa, and you are not intending to settle, that does not seem to be appropriate.

Difficult situation.

Thanks for you reply. That's what we thought were our possibilities, but hoped that there was another way around it. Is right to abode the same as intending to settle?
