Work Permit Gap

Post by tryingforpr » Wed Jul 07, 2010 5:36 pm

Hello All,

I have completed 5 years in UK and thinking of applying for ILR.

Below is my VISA history.

20/01/2005 20/01/2006 UK Entry Clearance 1st Entry in the UK on 31-01-2005
20/01/2006 20/01/2007 Residence Permit 1 year extension
Business visit of 188 days and Change in WP (WP gap of 15 days)
05/02/2007 05/02/2008 UK Entry Clearance 2nd Entry Clearance
05/02/2008 05/12/2012 Residence Permit 4 year Extension
03/07/2008 03/07/2011 Tier 1 Approval Switched to Tier1

It was a business visit and I can prove that with my employer’s letter. During my business visit my WP got expired and I had 2nd Entry clearance.

I have all P60s, bank statements, pay slips and all.

Am I eligible for ILR? What is the success chance?

Though it isn't clear from your post but if the business visit was under a business visitor EC, then ILR clock has been reset.

hi..

No, the business trip was under WP extension. I went to India for knowledge transiition and all. In that period my WP got expired and I have got new WP after 15 days. I returned to UK on new WP but for the same client. I have a company letter which states that my absences were work related.

What do you think? Shall I apply?

Regards.
