Naturalisation & unemployed

Post by roopscisco » Sun Jun 27, 2010 11:03 am

Hello,

have got a Question, im unemployed since Nov 2009. but got my ILR , Under HSMP JR, on last Sep 2009. i dont claim any Jobseekeers benifits since i lost my contract due to the amount of money i had in my Bank a/c.

so wondering , Do i have to submit any documents related to my job as i havnt got anything now.

Will this Situation effect my naturalisation in Sep 2010 ?

Really appreciate any advise.

Thanks.

Simply you have to write only Unemployed in good character req. section thats it not effect anything on your BC application

Hi All

I am going to apply for naturalisation in 5 months time. But I am unemployed even before I got my ILR. And propbably will be unemployed till apply for naturalisation. Currently I am getting JSA and CB and CTC.

1) Any negative effect on the naturalisation application in the future as per above circumstances?

2) My son is at present 13 years old . Can I include his application also with mine if he completes 5 years with me in UK?

Please advise and thank you.

soulfullness, using your numbering :-
  1. No negative effect at all. After all some people get their Naturalisation without ever having had paid work in the UK. For example a housewife, or a househusband! Benefits not a problem either.
  2. When you apply for Naturalisation, using form AN, an application for your son can be made for Registration for him, using form MN1. But for him, and only because he will be 13+, there is only a 2-year requirement.
Naturalisation for you .... Registration for your son! Difference between the two? Once granted, effectively no difference. But during the application process there are differences. For example, the 2-year period for your son. Also he does not need to pass the Life in the UK Citizenship test!
