Hi, I just wanted to share my joy with everybody after this long and stressful process. I'm an IT professional from Ecuador with a BA degree in Computer Science from the US.

Timeline:

Nov 2004: application filed in Bogot?, Colombia
Dec 2004: AOR received
Jun 2005: interview waived, medical exams and proof of funds requested
Aug 2005: medical exams performed
Sep 2005: medical exams and proof of funds sent in
Dec 2005: passports, photos and landing fees requested
Jan 2006: passports, photos sent in. Landing fees paid.
Mar 2006: passports with visas and CPRs received!

Have to land before Aug 16, 2006.
Good luck everyone.

Congratulations. Note that you need to be physically present in Canada 2 in every 5 years over a cumulative/rolling period to maintain your PR status unless applicable exemptions qualify you for absences e.g. accompanying a Canadian Citizen spouse, employment in the Federal Government abroad (when recruited in Canada and so posted) etc.
