financial evidence where UK citizen is not breadwinner

Post by O1979 » Mon Jul 12, 2010 11:45 am

Hello,

Just a quick question about evidence of income/finances for a FLR (M) application. My wife (a UK citizen) is a full time postgrad student at the moment and does not have any income (but does not claim any benefits either). I work and earn more than enough to meet the criteria for financial sufficiency, and have all the evidence to show it.

My wife and I use my bank account (in my name only) for bills and domestic expenses; I have 4-5 months worth of bank statements from that account. My question is whether it will be sufficient to submit evidence of my earnings (payslips, bank statements) rather than anything relating to financials from her side (since her account had sat empty for the last year), in view of her not earning anything anyway. We also have plenty of evidence of living together, since we married a few years ago but are only now applying for a marriage visa.

Thanks for the help.
