EC - Form 16 related !

Post by rm_rups » Tue Mar 21, 2006 10:12 am

Hello there..

Thanks for doing a wonderful job of posting such helpful information here.
I got my HSMP in the month of March 2006. I got all the necessary info about EC from this board. I have a specific question :

Along with other documents for EC -
Do I need to submit FORM 16 for past 3 years? OR submitting FORM 16 for past 2 years to the mumbai UK embassy is enough ?
Please help

Hi rm_rups

Rather than submitting Form 16 , you can submit the Income Tax Return form (SARAL) for the last 2 years.

Tnx Durai
When I inquired in the UK embassy, mumbai, they asked me to submit FORM16 for last 3 years. So now I'm confused. My concern here is - is it ok to submit past 2 years FORM16 ? Can you help me further ?

Well, I don't understand why Form-16 is required, as you need to show / prove funds.

None of my friends has been asked for Form-16.

Well , I can't say this whether this is there discretion.

Best thing is to submit as much as possible , You can submit your past Form-16's (as many u have 1,2,3), SARAL, Xerox of your PAN CARD etc. and initial fund proof.

sjgul.

Tnx sjgul. I agree on what you are saying here.
A few more doubts on initial fund proof :
Can I submit my Fixed Deposit certificates, my life insurance docs, my Mutual Funds statements, my bank balance(to show Liquid cash) and my share holding instructions as fund proof ?

I am bit confused. How can you have form16 for last 3 years. I used to give original to the income tax people around in august time. Though I used to get form16 from my company in may. So in this may- august time one can use for hsmp application purpose. Only thing you should be having original is Saral.
Also if form16 is misplaced , usually only after FIR report , usually Employer can issue new one. It is a legal document.

Any case Embessy only wants to see funds. better gave them salary bank statement for last one year.
