Leave to Enter and Tier 1 (General)

Post by psethura » Tue Jul 20, 2010 3:22 pm

Hi All

When I completed self assessment summary under "Tier 1 (Highly Skilled Workers) - General, (living outside UK).
I see following at end of assessment

"You appear to have enough points to apply for permission to enter the United Kingdon (known as 'leave to enter') under Tier 1 (General).

What is difference between "Leave to Enter" and Tier 1 (General)?

Im filling up form VAF9

Is it correct?

Tier 1 (general) is an immigration category. Leave to enter is the visa issued to an individual under a specific immigration category.

See UKVisas website:
VAF9 and PBS Appendix 1 (main applicant)
VAF 10 (dependents)

And make sure that you read the policy guidance (main applicant and dependent) *carefully*.
