passport expire date issue

Post by bobbymoore » Mon Jul 19, 2010 8:50 am

Hi
As for Tier 4 student according to the Immigration Rule, if type of course is 2 years then period of entry clearance to be granted after the course ends would be 4 months. In this case I understand that he/or she could be granted 2 years and 4 months visa. But , if the passport expire date run out after 2 years from the date the application is made ,will she get 2 years and 4 months visa or only 2 years visa?
Or The application will be refused becouse of the passport expire date which is only 2 years rather than 2 years and 4 months from the date the application is made?
Thanks in advance
BM

Don't see an issue with passport expiring during the validity of Tier 4 visa. The applicant should be granted leave as per rules, irrespective of the expiry date of applicant's passport.

Unless of course, the policy guidance states that the passport must be valid for the entire duration of studies / EC being applied for.
