I have a 3 yr tier 1 visa issued in januray 2010 ,just had a look at the rule now it seems to have changed again in terms of maintainence funds,i just wanna know when it comes to extension am i going to be assessed based on the terms i was issued the Visa or the current rules when i apply for extension .

It is too early to answer your question, as the govt. has two and half years if they wish to change the rules. Any answer given today may not be relevant in 2013.

As for current qualifying criteria in place, read the policy guidance.

sometimes pple on here just mis led others - whatever you start the race with is what you will be judged based on - since you have been issued your reply on applies first time applicants

Looks cryptic, I could not understand whether it is a query or comment. But the answer to the Original Post is that the extension applications are based on the rules under which you were granted the Initial Visa. Of course, these are not hard rules and can be changed, given the fact a permanent policy is being sought out for immigration due to released in April 2011.
